What is Silhouette Instalift®?

The Silhouette Instalift® is a non-surgical, in-office procedure that Dr. Schoemann can perform in as little as 45 minutes. No incisions are needed, and no general anesthesia is required. The procedure relies on absorbable/dissolving sutures to uplift sagging skin, including sagging jowls and cheeks. The result is a more youthful appearance, without the same time or recovery commitment you would experience with a full facelift.

How Does it Work?

During your Silhouette Instalift® procedure, Dr. Schoemann will pass threaded needles in opposite directions with special cones that grab and lift your facial tissues. Tissues are gathered over the cone and then suspended to create the desired aesthetic. Your body then heals, creating new collagen and fibrous tissue to hold your new facial structure in place.

The procedure is typically performed with the patient under localized anesthesia or topical numbing gel. This ensures comfort during the treatment but does not involve the same recovery you would have with general anesthesia.

What Cosmetic Concerns Does a Silhouette InstaLift® Procedure Treat?

There are several cosmetic concerns that we can address with Silhouette Instalift®. One is facial skin laxity. Over time, the facial tissue loses much of its elasticity, which can lead to sagginess as well as wrinkles and fine lines. What is the Average Recovery Associated with a Silhouette InstaLift® Procedure?

One reason why patients prefer the Silhouette Instalift® is that it comes with a much less significant recovery time than what you could have following surgical intervention.

After a day of rest, most of our patients feel ready to head back to work or resume other normal activities, though we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for two to three weeks.

Additionally, patients will need to stick with a soft food and liquid diet for the first few days and minimize excess movement of the facial muscles. You are free to resume your normal diet as you feel able.

What are the Potential Side Effects of a Silhouette InstaLift® Procedure?

While the Silhouette Instalift® is a very safe procedure, there are risks associated with any medical treatment. It is important to be aware of these risks before you schedule your treatment.

The side effects associated with this procedure are generally very mild. They include:

• Puckering of the skin
• Bruising
• Swelling
• Numbness
• Visible suture lines

These side effects typically clear up on their own within a matter of days. A more serious concern is an infection of the treatment site, which may require intervention with antibiotics or other medications. Your surgeon can provide further information about risks and possible side effects during your initial consultation.

What Can Someone Expect from the Results of a Silhouette InstaLift® Procedure?

You should expect the results from your Silhouette Instalift® procedure to develop over the course of several months as your body heals and as new collagen is produced. The coned thread will dissolve on its own, but it will leave new fibrous tissues behind to help maintain your results.

The effects of your Silhouette Instalift® procedure will evolve as you continue to age, and maintenance treatments can help you extend your results. We recommend treatments every 18 months or so to help you enjoy long-lasting effects from your Silhouette Instalift®.
